Isn't it so nice--today is finally feeling like fall! I came across so many wonderful fall inspirations this morning. Hope you all enjoy! Happy Monday, all!
One of my favorite decorating tricks involves finding inspiration in our wardrobe. When I went scouring my wardrobe, I found that most of my clothes reflect a certain theme or similar color way. I also found I don't venture too far outside of my comfort zone with my clothes. Having said this, why not let our wardrobe inspire our interiors? If we're comfortable wearing it, we'll be comfortable living in it.
There's a trick to being a great consignment shopper. Here's some tips from some of the experts:
1). Go into a consignment shop with a specific plan of action. Even having a list. This will help your eye to cue in on something specific rather than a sea full of items. I have found that this is when the greatest finds start popping out to me.
2). Be open to changing your vision a bit. If you are looking for black lamps and you find a pair of nickel that you really like, realize that sometimes, when dealing in second hand stores, you may have to compromise on your initial vision. I have found that being open to changes really pays off, and I'm usually happier in the end.
3). Don't be afraid to alter an item. Spray paint is one of my best friends and it looks amazing. I had a great friend that recently spray painted a pair of brass lamps and they looked smashing. Don't be afraid to use your creative juices--in fact, the best consignment shoppers are equally as creative as they are crazy for a good deal!
4). Shop often! The consignment shopper that visits My Finer Consigner every week will find the most success. Sometimes it takes one month, two months or even six months to find that perfect item, but you wouldn't want to miss it by not stopping in one week!
Hope you enjoy some past finer lovelies..isn't it amazing what our friends consign in our charming little store? We are so tickled to be able to offer such a unique, one-of-a-kind product!
Today I came across so many lovely table top inspirations from the lovely blog, Pink Wallpaper. Made me stop and think about what's on top of my table!
Being that school started yesterday, I am feeling like my summery, disorganized, laid back self needs to be whipped back into shape. Meaning, first things first, I need a bit of organization in my life. I ran across some great inspiration for the lot of us (I hope) that are looking to get organized. Hope this helps! Have a great evening all--sorry it's so late!
my apologies, I wish I knew whom to give praises for these lovely pictures
Can you believe the kiddies are off to school? What a whirlwind in the house this morning. There's nothing better than watching the joy on a child's face, as they jump out of the car to run into their first day of class, is there? And as sad as I am that summer is over, there's just something magical about fall. I am excited.
Aw..what a thought--soon it will be cool enough for a fire.
Time to bring out the cable knit sweater blankets.
I realize that the Ticking Chair reveal from the Finer Guest Bedroom Makeover is a bit belated, but better late than never. So here it is this lovely Saturday morn. Isn't it perfect?

I love this beautiful image I happened across tonight while looking at one of my favorite blogs, Brabourne Farm. I think I would be one happy girl to crawl into this bed at night. Oh, what sweet dreams I would have.
In my searches through the store, yesterday, I came across some beautiful baskets. After purchasing one, I think it inspired me to kick back and have a summer picnic today. Such a perfect and beautiful day!
I ran across this paint today and I'm now itching for a DIY project. Just wanted to share my findings..
Stenciled Animal Mugs
Look no further than the nearest pasture for inspiration to dress up plain dishware. To duplicate these mugs, print and cut out the animal shapes. Use these templates for Cow, Sheep, and Pig shapes. Place each shape atop a small piece of contact paper and outline it in pencil. Cut out with a craft knife; then discard the paper inside the outline. Peel away the backing and affix the stencil to a clean, dry mug, making sure to center the image. Following the package directions, use a soft brush to fill in the outline with dishwasher-safe PermEnamel paint ($3.49 for two ounces, joann.com); let set for a few minutes. Carefully remove the contact paper, clean up any edges with a damp cotton swab, and allow the paint to cure for 10 days.
