We are seeing a lot of the monochromatic color schemes in the magazines these days. Don't get me wrong, it's 100% my style and I love the subtlety of it. But to prevent a tone-on-tone room from looking flat, don't be afraid to let a few colors pop in the room. Country Living confidently shows us how it's done:
Hanging a quilt on the wall in place of a headboard--what a thought..
What a statement this barn red door makes in the room. Such a charming, detailed door deserves this sort of attention in my opinion.
The yellow checkered throw at the foot of the bed coupled with a lovely arrangement of purple Allium brings so much life to the room without creating too much distraction.
I love that this piece isn't afraid to stand out. Perfection.

Once again, this chair is proof that adding a pop of color doesn't have to be difficult or intimidating--and yet, its affect is astounding.
Nothing a can of spray paint couldn't handle..
And yellow, the only thing we can say about you is, "You just have a way of making our hearts smile."
